Wedding of Alisha and Ross

How did you find out about Sophia Grace Couture?

I found out about Sophia Grace through my mum’s friend, she goes to a beauty salon in West Linton and one of the girls who works there got her wedding dress there.

How would you describe your experience at Sophia Grace Couture?

Amazing! Although you are one of many, many brides that enter the shop they still make you feel like you are the only one they know getting married. During all of my visits to the shop I never once seen another bride trying on a dress. I think this is a lovely touch because again makes you feel special and you really have quality time with the girls in the shop as you have their full attention.  Also if you are a little bit self conscious you don’t need to worry about anyone seeing you or looking at you trying on the dresses!

Tell us about your dress and why you choose your particular gown.

I knew all along my dress was always going to be plain. I wasn’t to sure about the style but always plain! I don’t do lace or a lot of fuss it’s just not me. Hannah initially picked the dress for me as it’s wasn’t a style I would of seen myself in but I knew as soon as I tried it on it was the one! Very plain at the front with cut out sides and a little bit of sparkle at the back – it was just perfect. Since the wedding a lot of people have described my dress as classic with a modern twist!

What was your inspiration for your wedding?  Did you follow a specific theme or colour palette?

We wanted our wedding to be very relaxed and our main focus was just for everyone to have a brilliant time. When picking the venue it was a very easy decision (the first one we went to see!) We choose Cornhill Castle because you basically have the full place to yourself, it’s very private and safe and if the weather was a little kinder to us our guests including the kids could of played outside without a worry. It rained and was windy all day but our photographer Natalie Martin got amazing photos and now I wouldn’t of had the weather any other way!

What was the most memorable moment?

Our wedding was perfect! Everything we wanted. Everyone had an amazing time, the venue, food, drink, band were all excellent! We couldn’t have asked for anything more. We would do it over and over again if we could! We smiled all day…Apart from when Ross had to dance! There isn’t one moment that I can pin point that stuck out the most everything was just as I’d imagined and more.

Do you have any advice for future brides visiting Sophia Grace Couture?

The only advice I have for any brides visiting Sophia Grace is try and enjoy every moment and don’t stress. The girls will make you feel so relaxed and special there is no need to worry and no matter what happens on your big day it will not matter you will still wake up the day after and say “that was the best day of my life!”
