Wedding Of Lauren And Colin

How did you find out about Sophia Grace Couture?

I found about Sophia Grace Couture while scrolling through social media looking at particular designers. I knew instantly I wanted to come visit the shop to look at dresses with my bridesmaids.

How would you describe your experience at Sophia Grace Couture?

My experience at Sophia Grace Couture was amazing from start to finish. From the first booking, the communication before my visit, even from walking in. Hannah and the girls made us feel so welcoming and comfortable, nothing was too big or small for them. I liked the fact Hannah was honest and would help out in every aspect as well as had a giggle. I was very nervous for coming in due to not being overly girly so trying on wedding dresses was going to be a big thing for myself, Hannah reassured me along the way at every step. I loved the gesture of a present that they gift you once you buy your dress also, I felt it was a nice touch. As well as getting our “I bought THE dress” photo opportunity at the front door. The whole shop was just beautiful.

Tell us about your dress and why you choose your particular gown

My wedding dress is something I never expected to go for, my bridesmaids chose it for me and I’m so glad they did. I just love every aspect of it. I chose the Enzoani “Owen” dress. I was stuck between this dress and another but I just felt different in this dress. I felt beautiful. I must say a big thank you to my girls for choosing it!

How did you meet?  Are you happy to tell us about the proposal?

I met my husband 10 years and got chatting through social media before we finally met up and went for a romantic date to Tesco. Young love at 16😂. We got engaged on 27th April 2022 at Dunrobin castle while completing the NC500.

What was your inspiration for your wedding?  Did you follow a specific theme or colour palette?

My inspiration for our wedding was Scotland. This is the one thing me and my husband agree and so together, following Scotland football games all over the world. A lot of our decoration was different tartans, thistles in our flower decor and our wedding tables were named after Scottish football players.

What made you decide upon your chosen venue?

From the moment we visited Bachilton Barn we knew it was our venue. We both got butterflies and excited and couldn’t keep a smile off our faces. It’s a stunning home run barn/farm with gorgeous scenery from both inside and outside the barn. It just felt homely but magical at the same time.

Tell us about your wedding

We got married on Saturday 31st August 2024, a day after our 10 year anniversary. Me and my girls got ready in one cottage, while the boys got ready in another cottage. We had 5 bridesmaids, 4 groomsman, 2 flower girls, 1 page boy, our dog as the ring bearer and 2 flower men! As you can imagine my flower men going down to Shania Twain’s “Man I feel like a woman” was a massive hit. We had a quick and comical ceremony as Angus (our dog) was eagerly awaiting to come see us and kept making funny noises throughout the ceremony. Luckily, we managed to get one of our few summer days in Scotland, not a cloud in the sky bar the sun. We went for a stroll for our photos around the farm, chatted with our guests and then sat down for our meal & speeches. We then partied all night with our guests, we had big glow sticks for everyone on the dancefloor, a photobooth, an audio guest book and some sparklers for a photo with our wedding party! Very risky when some have had too much to drink 😂

What was the most memorable moment?

My most memorable moment was probably Loch Lomond at the end with everyone or when my husband and his best man decked it onto the floor trying to recreate dirty dancing 🫣

Do you have any advice for future brides visiting Sophia Grace Couture?

My advice would be to go in with an open mind and enjoy the experience, because it is just wonderful and the best! Enjoy every minute of it.
