Wedding of Rachel and Robert
How did you find out about Sophia Grace Couture?
My sister in-law, her cousin and some friends have all got their dresses from Sophia Grace. I’ve followed them on social media and always knew that’s where I would get my dress! The selection is amazing and there’s certainly something for everyone!
How would you describe your experience at Sophia Grace Couture?
After two trips that were disheartening to other bridal shops I booked my appointment at Sophia Grace. It was a breath of fresh air, the shop itself is inviting and the dresses are all displayed beautifully. All the girls were welcoming and friendly, Hannah in particular was amazing at putting me at ease and helping me choose the perfect dress! Overall I would say my experience was first rate and honestly would recommend to anyone!

My friend showed me the dress on the rail but I never picked it up for my first round to try on. After trying a few dresses on Hannah said she had one in mind that I would like and brought in the same dress that my friend had showed me! I loved it when I put it on, it was exactly what I wanted and made me feel amazing! The detail, lace and style was perfect and what I loved was it was light and comfortable to move around in!
We also got a flower girl dress for my niece, she loved trying on all the dresses and Hannah was excellent with her even when we all had to shut our eyes for the big reveal (for every dress)!
How did you meet? Are you happy to tell us about the proposal?
We’ve been together for 10 years and met through young farmers. He told me we were going to move sheep from the hill, so he picked me up on the quad bike with our dogs and drove us to our favourite spot on the hill overlooking the valley and our farm. I wasn’t expecting it and it very much took me by surprise when he got down on one knee and asked!
What was your inspiration for your wedding? Did you follow a specific theme or colour palette?
I wanted a day that was us, nothing too fancy or structured - a romantic relaxed day. The wedding was on our farm in the garden so I wanted the marquee and decorations to fit in, so we went with rustic greens and pinks to match the garden. I made the decorations and signs myself with things from the farm, it was a perfect day!
What made you decide upon your chosen venue?
We always knew we wanted to get married on the farm as it’s our happy place. We’re also lucky enough to have a ruined castle, Drochil, in our garden so I think when you have a castle in your garden you should use it!

It was the perfect day. Just to see all our family and friends laughing and smiling in the sunshine was a memory I will always cherish, even more special on our farm. The day was full of happiness, love and dancing! The dress just made it, I felt beautiful and confident and that’s something you can’t put a value on!
What was the most memorable moment?
The moment after we got married and walked down the aisle, and had our first moment alone together that day. Where we just looked at each and said wow we’re married and could see all our loved ones, it was pretty special (made even better by the fabulous weather)
Do you have any advice for future brides visiting Sophia Grace Couture?
Try on a variety of styles and be open minded! The girls know the dresses so well so if they suggest it, try it on - that’s how I found mine!
