Wedding of Holly and Aaron

How did you find out about Sophia Grace Couture?

I found out about Sophia Grace as my Mum and Gran both knew the owner Naydene and have always said how amazing the shop looks and all the dresses in it, so after I had a wee snoop online and on Instagram I was sold to come looking here for my dress!

How would you describe your experience at Sophia Grace Couture?

My experience was absolutely amazing, myself, my mum, gran and maid of honour were treated absolutely perfectly from the moment we walked in the door and Hannah made us have such a flawless and comfortable experience with lovely prosecco and chocolates!

Tell us about your dress and why you choose your particular gown

My dress was called Pearl and it was absolutely stunning with the most beautiful detail. As I was getting married abroad I knew I wanted a lightweight dress to be comfortable in the heat. The dress I actually ended up picking wasn’t one I thought of initially and I tried a few on before it which I thought I would love but they just weren’t “the one” for me. Luckily Hannah was there and knew exactly what I was looking for and she actually ended up pulling the dress for me to try and I’m so glad she did as I fell in love straight away and knew it was the one!

How did you meet?  Are you happy to tell us about the proposal?

Aaron and I met at the local Miners’ Club at a night out – not the most romantic meeting spot lol! But from that night we became inseparable and stayed together throughout lockdown. It was near the end of lockdown on our 2nd anniversary where we went to a log cabin in Thurso at the top of Scotland and that was when Aaron proposed – it was perfect.

What was your inspiration for your wedding?  Did you follow a specific theme or colour palette?

For our wedding inspiration I just wanted it to be beautiful and classy so when we look back in 10, 20 or 30 years it still stands out as a timeless theme. We went for loads of golds, whites and sage greens – luckily being abroad and right next to the sea the venue spoke for itself so we didn’t need to go too overboard with décor as the venue was stunning on its own.

What made you decide upon your chosen venue?

Since I was little I’ve always said I wanted an abroad beachy wedding so the idea was always in my mind and when we came across the venue we choose I just knew it was exactly what I dreamed of and more!

Tell us about your wedding

Our wedding was absolutely perfect, our closest family and friends came over to Cyprus with us for a week and it was the best week I’ve ever had. The day of the wedding was absolutely amazing from getting ready in the morning with all the bridesmaids to leaving for the venue. Once I arrived at the venue all my nerves just left and I was just so excited to marry Aaron I felt on cloud nine! We brought a touch of Scotland with us and had a piper there which was so nice to surprise our guests with.  We had a beautiful ceremony looking right over the sea, followed by our reception which was just perfect and then lots and lots of dancing to the saxophone player we had then the DJ later on in the night – everyone had an absolute blast and it’s a day ill never forget.

What was the most memorable moment?

My most memorable moment was definitely walking down the aisle, the anticipation of not seeing any of your guests or your groom until that moment and seeing how purely happy people are for you for your moment is just absolutely amazing. The look on Aaron’s face gets me every time, he even started an applause when I reached the end so that was such a lovely moment  – very lucky to have experienced that with the people I had there.

Do you have any advice for future brides?

Advice I would give to future brides is enjoy EVERY second, I remember being told it goes so fast and not really believing it but trust me it does!! I would just do exactly what you want and how you want it, its your day and your moment to shine so take it all in and let all the stress and nerves go as it really is over in the blink of an eye. Enjoy all the moments leading up to the big day as there all once in a lifetime memories to be made!
