Wedding of Gabriella and Greg

How did you find out about Sophia Grace Couture?

Recommended to visit from my cousin. She told me it was a beautiful shop and she was correct!

How would you describe your experience at Sophia Grace Couture?

Hannah instantly made me feel so relaxed. She listened carefully to the type of wedding I was having and the sort of styles I was drawn to. She was amazing an encouraging me to try on a variety of styles and showing me all the amazing dresses on offer.

Tell us about your dress and why you choose your particular gown

As soon as I tried my dress on I could just picture myself walking down the aisle and it sparkling in the Italian sunshine! Once I tried it on there were no other dresses for me.

How did you meet? Are you happy to tell us about the proposal?

We met on Tinder... the modern love story! We got engaged last year in Lake Como. I was a beautiful, quiet proposal just the two of us with a stunning view.

What was your inspiration for your wedding? Did you follow a specific theme or colour palette?

I wanted a rustic, Italian wedding. I got married in rural Italy so wanted to match the beauty of the countryside. The wedding was on a vineyard so olive was very much the colour scheme!

What made you decide upon your venue?

It was based on the village where my family originally come from. It is a place I have spent every summer growing up so is very special to me. I couldn’t have imagined getting married anywhere else.

Tell us about your wedding

It was in the local church in the village. All the locals came out to watch me walking to the church which was very emotional as these people have all watched me grow up. After the ceremony we had aperol spritz in the piazza before driving a vintage fiat 500 (our favourite and dream car) to the venue. We had an incredible meal of Italian food, a cannoli wedding cake and pizza and ice cream for the evening buffet. We brought the Scottish element to the wedding with bagpipes in the band and lots of ceilidh dancing. It really was the best day of our lives.

What was the most memorable moment?

Driving to the venue in the little fiat 500. It was our first moment alone as husband and wife and was just so special.

Do you have any advice for future brides visiting Sophia Grace Couture?

Take the time to try plenty dresses on and just enjoy the experience. It was a wonderful place to get my dress and I always looked forward to going back to the shop for accessories etc.
