Wedding of Chloe and Jamie

How did you find out about Sophia Grace Couture?

Through instagram, I had a style of dress in my head. I was looking for and when I saw all the dresses on your profile, I knew this was the shop that had my style of dresses!

How would you describe your experience at Sophia Grace Couture?

Myself, my mum and sister had a great time. Charlotte let us go through the racks pulling dresses I liked then we went to try them on. She was super helpful at knowing what I was trying to describe even though I didn’t feel I was explaining it well!

Tell us about your dress and why you choose your particular gown

I absolutely loved and still love my wedding dress! The material was delicate but so detailed. The little floral flowers that were 3d mixed with the lace floral pattern with sparkles was a bit of everything I was looking for. The cut of the dress say perfect on me as i’m sure the was I described myself was 5 foot 2 with no boobs haha! As this had a deep V then came in at my wait it flattered my figure so well. It was also super comfortable. I just got a emotional feeling in it when I was thinking I might not get that after trying dresses in mother shops.

How did you meet?  Are you happy to tell us about the proposal?

Jamie and I met at our mutual friend’s birthday party, I always say it sounds cheesy, but we instantly hit it off, we messaged for a couple weeks before going on our first date and were pretty much inseparable from there!

The proposal was an amazing surprise, we had lost our dog earlier that year, so it had been tough and it was going to be our first xmas without him, he woke me up super early on Christmas morning and got down on one knee. I was in such shock as he had kept it a total surprise but obviously the happiest moment, I said yes as soon as I composed myself from crying happy tears!!!

What was your inspiration for your wedding?  Did you follow a specific theme or colour palette?

I love autumnal colours, anything warm and rich. oranges and golds are my favourite. September was the perfect time of year as it’s starting to turn into autumn, but the weather is still mild, and the trees are starting to change colour. I used a lot of autumnal oranges, rust and then decided to add pops of pink to make it even brighter. We wanted the wedding to be super fun and colourful and give everybody a joyful feeling from as soon as the ceremony started until the end.

What made you decide upon your chosen venue?

Our venue was the perfect mix of modern and traditional. My new husband is a stonemason and loves this traditional stone build of the castle and I love the modern interior with such a light bright feel. The castle is very pretty. It has a unique feel to it with the shape of the castle and the courtyard with japanese inspiration and it has the most gorgeous walled garden and orchard.

Tell us about your wedding

Our ceremony was a mix of emotional and laughter which is exactly what we wanted. Our celebrant hit the nail on the head when she created our script! I our ceremony was held in the main ballroom as well as our wedding meal. All I can say was it was the best day ever! I struggle to put into words how it was! It’s been lovely hearing all the gusted say they had a great time and I feel emotional and so happy the feeling of having them all there to celebrate with us!

What was the most memorable moment?

The ceremony is the bit that stands out for us the most, the feeling between the two of us up there was just so connected and special and we could feel the love in the room!
