How did you find out about Sophia Grace Couture?

My friend had been to Sophia Grace Couture for their wedding dress and let me know how amazing all the dresses were and how nice and helpful the staff were.

How would you describe your experience at Sophia Grace Couture?

Sophia Grace was the only dress shop I went to for my wedding dress and I couldn’t have picked a better shop. From day one Hannah was so lovely and helpful to me, she made me feel at ease and made the whole experience enjoyable. I tried on around seven different dresses and knew I had found the one after trying it on.

Tell us about your dress and why you choose your particular gown

Before going dress shopping I had in my head I wanted one with sleeves but was open to trying on different styles to make sure I was getting the right one. As soon as I tried on my dress I knew it was the one, it made me feel so comfortable and I felt amazing in it. The detail was stunning and everyone commented on how beautiful my dress was.

How did you meet? Are you happy to tell us about the proposal?

Myself and Reece met through school and were friends to start with before getting in a relationship in 2007. We’ve been together coming up fourteen years. The proposal happened in 2018 in Gran Canaria and it was one to remember as Reece couldn’t find the ring and thought he had lost it! It was wrapped up in disguise as one of Reece’s birthday gifts but him and his mum communication fell down and he didn’t know what parcel the ring was in. It was an amazing memory and one I one I won’t forget.

What was your inspiration for your wedding? Did you follow a specific theme or colour palette?

My colour scheme for my wedding was baby blue so I went with this colour for my decor, bridesmaids dresses and detail in the kilts.

What made you decide upon your chosen venue?

We had heard lovely things about the Vu in Bathgate and went to visit it a few times. We knew after seeing the lovely scenery that it was the one. And on the day it did not disappoint everything went to plan and the staff were amazing.

Tell us about your wedding

Our wedding was 7th August 2021 at the Vu Bathgate, the weather wasn’t on our side as it did rain but we didn’t let that ruin our day there was still smiles throughout and our photos are amazing. We had a saxophone player at night and it really made the night everyone has commented on how amazing he was.

What was the most memorable moment?

The whole day to be honest it was amazing from start to finish. All our speeches were out this world , my maid of honour did a poem and the best men did a song with own lyrics and funny moments about Reece. They stole the show.
