How did you find out about Sophia Grace Couture?

I started to follow Sophia Grace Couture on Instagram as soon as I got engaged. I also heard from a lot of people who had visited telling me of how much of an enjoyable experience they had and how beautiful the dresses were!

How would you describe your experience at Sophia Grace Couture?

Hand on my heart the best experience ever! Obviously as a new bride to be you do not know what to experience or what should be the norm! However after speaking to many brides, I was told that you should be made to feel like you are the only bride in the world! And the ladies at Sophia Grace go above and beyond to make you feel this way! I visited another bridal shop after Sophia Grace and hated every minute of it! I knew right away that Sophia Grace was my “Yes to the Dress”

Hannah made me feel so comfortable even at my most vulnerable moments and always made me feel calm when I was having my fits about the way I looked and felt! She also made my bridesmaids feel so comfortable too!

Tell us about your dress and why you choose your particular gown

So I always knew what kind of dress I wanted in my head! But as many brides know, what you have in your head and what you actually pick are normally two different scenarios. However after walking around and actually have a feel for the dresses and actually taking them off the hanger and seeing them, my dress was actually the first one I tried on! I did try other dresses on but I knew from the minute I saw myself in the mirror that my first option was THE ONE!

How did you meet? Are you happy to tell us about the proposal?

So Josh and I met as young pups! I was 17 and Josh was 19. We met at our local….. Prestonpans Labour club! Romantic, I know haha! Fast forward 10 years and he FINALLY asked me to marry him! 12 years later we became Husband and Wife! Josh proposed to me on our holiday in Dubai. We were with close friends and I had not a clue that he was going to propose! Everyone else did! We have a thing about boats! Whenever we are on holiday we always try and go on a boat tour for the day! Josh hired a boat for the day, I never though anything of this as we had done it before! The day was going great, drinks were flowing and it came to the point where the captain allows you to jump in to the water if you want to do so!

Now this is when the engagement nearly never happened! Unknown to me Josh had the engagement ring in his shorts pocket in the pouch! Obviously to hide it from me! However scatter brains forgets the pouch is in his pocket and decides to dive into the water! It took for me to see something floating behind him (still absolutely obviously to what it is) I then tell him and he quickly grabs the pouch while I’m being distracted!

Anyway it was a happy ending as he proposed while the sun was setting and I said yes!

What was your inspiration for your wedding? Did you follow a specific theme or colour palette?

I always knew that Josh would want to get married in his family tartan, so I knew the colours from his tartan that I would go for! To be fair I wanted blush pinks, greens and whites anyway! So this fitted in perfect with his tartan!

Did Covid-19 Impact your wedding?

Fortunately not for us, we got engaged during COVID so we had 2 years before we got married, so thankfully our first date we booked remained as is.

What made you decide upon your chosen venue?

Josh was in camp and one night I was looking through the internet for venues! Kinmount House came up, had one look at the picture and I phoned Josh while he was in Vegas and said I’ve found a venue!

Tell us about your wedding

Laughter, love and plenty of partying! Perfect from start to finish! I always have to kick the backside out of everything so I wanted a weekend shindig. I honestly wish I could relive it all again!

What was the most memorable moment?

Honestly I’m finding it hard to pick one as the whole weekend was spectacular! But for me it would probably be walking down the aisle to Josh.

Do you have any advice for future brides visiting Sophia Grace Couture?

Trust the girls, they are there to help you! Take every moment in and enjoy it! The girls make you feel like a million dollars and I honestly couldn’t of asked for a better start to my wedding! Your experience in Sophia Grace is just the start to your wedding day. And boy do they deliver!
