Have an idea of what you want before you start shopping
Think about your day! One of the first questions we ask our brides is to tell us about their plans, where it is and what kind of day they envisage as different styles of wedding can mean different styles of dress and we want to make sure you have the perfect gown for your perfect day.

Take into consideration personal taste, the style and shape of your dress, the neckline, length, waistline, train etc, look through wedding magazines and designer and bridal websites, maybe create a mood board of the styles and designs you like and bring those photos to your first appointment.

Be open-minded when trying on different styles
Quite often brides end up choosing a gown that was unlike the one they originally had in mind, so be sure to try on several different styles.  After you have tried several gowns you will know what you like about a gown and what you don’t, it is then that our consultant can pick gowns for you to try and in some cases you might not even thought about trying.

Give yourself enough time
Start looking sooner rather than later, it’s never too early to start trying on dresses as it will give you an idea of what you like and what suits you.  Depending on the dress and designer it can take up to 6 months for a dress to be made to order and you also need to take into consideration time for any alterations that you may need.

Trying dresses on
At Sophia Grace Couture we allow an initial up to two hour bridal appointment ensuring lots of time for our brides to try on as many dresses as they wish without rushing. It’s always best to book well in advance and keep in mind that Saturdays are usually the busiest day of the week

Its best to go to your first appointment with up to four people whose opinions you know you can trust.  Enlist one or two of your closest family or friends to help you start your search. This way you can find the gown of your dreams and not feel pressured by others’ opinions

On your appointment day
Make sure to wear appropriate underwear as you will be helped in and out of each gown, a strapless bra is always a good idea, however you can always take your straps down.

We do ask that you wear little or no make-up and to protect our gowns no fake tan is worn.

Bring along heels in a similar height to those you will wear on the day as this will determine if you would require extra length or alterations to your chosen gown once ordered.

In the bridal boutique
Finding your dream gown has never been easier, whether you would like a classic cut, fun, vintage or romantic style at Sophia Grace Couture we have a wide range of gowns to suit everyone.  With six different designers to choose from and prices ranging between £1000 and £2500 at Sophia Grace Couture we really can make your dreams come true.

All our fitting rooms are completely private therefore you and your bridal party can relax, knowing you have the undivided attention of your consultant without any interruptions.

As we are all different shapes and sizes our sample gowns range from a size 8 to 18 and in addition we stock a curvy girls range by Kenneth Winston which starts at size 18 up to 30.

Will I know when I find ‘The One’?
Absolutely, I always can tell if a bride has found ‘the one’.  The way that a bride looks at herself in the mirror, the smile and the reluctance to take the gown off is always an indication.

Once you find the gown of your dreams stop looking!
